All righty, let's give this another go.

I always find my way by circling in on things, sometimes even when I know where I'm going, so usually I know to leave extra time for driving until the way has settled in so deeply that my conscious mind can't fuck it up. So, yeah, House of Flying Daggers today, and maybe if I leave at 10 am for a 1 o'clock ( Read more... )

There is a good little Helen fic with JC and Joey studying Eng. Lit. and JC surprised because Joey is good at it. You'd hate it because Joey gets some.

I bet JC thought The Celestine Prophecies was the best thing evah.

Ahahahaha! JC's still waiting for his real family to come and get him from outer space. Although in his case, that's sort of poignant and perhaps not to be made fun of.

I love Helen, but yeah. Not so much with the Joey getting some. It's weird. I can happily read porn in fandoms I know nothing about, but as soon as I discover their canon, I'm done. Fanon Joey is way hot, because the authors clearly love him so. But the real Joey Fatone? I wouldn't even turn my head. So sad.

See, you should come over to the embarrassing 'pure fanon' side, where you would scream and drop your MP3 player if any actual *NSYNC suddenly started playing on it and Justin's videos make you cringe.
I know. I will never be a good Popslasher. I'm all about the consumption.

Alas, I'm doomed then, because I really like Nsync's music. And luckily, not all popslash is based on the hotness factor of the guys. Shocking, I know. I could hardly believe it myself. But then I'm just a good little consumer, too.

See, I'm almost sorry I don't like it. Almost. I like splashing in the fanonical shallows, but I won't pretend I would ever have picked up Schizophrenic or made the effort to go see Mr Wiggles at G-A-Y, if it weren't for popslash. And look what I would have missed!

No Nsync at all? Not even Just Got Paid? Cause man, that's a great song.

I thought I hated it all, too, until popslash. Then I had to (grudgingly, reluctantly) admit I do like it, even the schmoopy stuff. Their voices. Aiee, me. But then I like lots of different stuff, and most people who know me think the Nsync thing is like the African township jive thing or the bluegrass thing or the triphop thing: just Mary being weird again. :)

None at all. Bear in mind I barely knew who they were before stumbling over Fragile by Julad and going "That one with the bleach job is La-ance, that pixiekid is Chri-is...". Nothing I've heard since has remotely appealed to me musically, EXCEPT The Lion Sleeps Tonight cover. Which rocks.
They never filled the charts here like they did in the US and I - well, I always hated boybands. Blurgh. I'll stick to folky oddities and some embarrassing C & W for my musical weirdnesses.

No one can fault your taste at ALL for liking that *g* Best.Song.EVER.

I'm maybe a bit biased, since that's my comfort music, but whatever, yo.

Oh, it's my comfort music, too. When my colleagues hear distant wailey noises coming from my pc, they tiptoe away because they know I'm having a bad day. Plus, I love CHRIS.

Julad once put together an 'Nsync playlist for the trepidant. Have you heard the acoustic version of 'For The Girl'? It was at the top and even if you like boybands not, it very much transcends the genre. (Note that I'm not trying to put the genre down, here, even though I am very much not a schmoopy ballad person, on the whole. :) )

I LOVE THAT SONG AND THAT VERSION, OMG. Omg, I made withdiamonds and bellaphena listen to it 39083748 times in the car, searching for JC in the wilds of upstate NY. It's so dreamy and swingy, and the way the voices intertwine, strands of silk, man, beautiful. Fucking beautiful.

And the little bits of flamenco-y guitar, I just, I can't... *loads itunes*

*twists hands* I haven't. I might go see. I quite like it here in my boyband music-free bubble.
If I wind up with copies of the Christmas singles, there will be hell to pay.

Oh, you're evil, I mean thank you...

Ok, that's quite sweet. *headdesk* I'm not kidding about the Christmas single thing.
