SNAAAAAAPE! SNAPE SNAPE SNAPE! There was so much of him and he was snarky and funny and I want to take him to bed with me! ALAN RICKMAN LOVE!!!!!! *swoon*
Luna and Umbridge were absolutely perfect; Lupin grew a scraggly beard to balance out the pussy mustache and it makes him look much better! SO MANY SEXY MEN, OH BABY!!! Lucius came ready to play in his BDSM Master Wizard robes and hot damn, did I want to jump at the screen and ravish him. Sirius was very handsome in his suit, and you got to see PADFOOT skipping around the train station! Awwww!
Even so, I didn't really think it was possible to make Sirius' death even lamer than it was in the book. But David Yates made it so! Girls in the theatre were sobbing; I was laughing about how they made his death even more anticlimactic. Poor Sirius just can't catch a break.
There seemed not to be a Hermione character so much as there was Emma Watson just showing up on set and playing herself. Rupert Grint was, once again, woefully underused.
No one can understand why I like GOF a little bit better than this movie. 5 was great, but it seemed extremely stunted. There wasn't a very good flow to the story and sometimes scene changes were so abrupt that it took me a while to figure out what part of the book they were showing. GOF did a better job of condensing a lot of material into a short amount of time.
HOWEVER, GOF did not have nearly enough SNAPE, and OOTP made up for that in spades! Heeee snape. And this movie had lots, lots, lots more eye-candy for me. I can't wait to see it again just for the hot men.
Look, I have to be giddy about hot men because I honestly hated OOTP the book. And by hated, I mean somewhat disliked, but the point gets across.
Bedtime! Can't wait to see SNAPE again!
