"Luffy!" the Straw-Hat Crew yelled loudly searching for their captain. "Where are you?" they called fervently.
"Damn him running off again," Zoro growled irritably.
"Where could he be?" Sanji demanded.
Chopper shook his head, "I can't believe he's lost again!"
"Really?" Nami sighed, "Is it really that much of a surprise?"
"Well, at least not much can hurt him," Nico Robin shrugged.
Nami ground her teeth, "It's not what could hurt him I'm worried about! Who knows what kind of damage he could cause on his own."
"Luffy!" they yelled again.
"MEAT!" came the resounding cry.
"Oh, there he is."

"I know what you did last summer island," Usopp told Luffy evilly.
Luffy stared at his sharpshooter blankly, "Of course you do, you were there."
"Not that," Usopp smirked indolently, "The important thing."
"Saving the island wasn't important?" Luffy scratched his head despite the hat on top.
"I'm talking about what I saw you and Zoro doing!"
"Beating up the bad guys?"
"No!" Usopp fumed and then after a heavy sigh at his captain's idiocy, whispered, "In the closet in the galley. . ."
"Oh. . . that," Luffy laughed.
". . .How were you. . . in that . . . position?" Usopp stammered.
Luffy laughed a gain, "I'm a rubberman!"

Luffy was not the type to drink alcohol. Perhaps it was an extension of his childhood when Shanks would mock him for drinking milk, even while never allowing a minor to drink alcohol with his scallywags. Or maybe it was from an unmentioned attempt to show Shanks up, leading to an alcohol binge and near-death experience that made him swear off the stuff forever. Whatever the reason, when the Straw-Hat crew drank drum and grog in the bars and on the Going Merry, Luffy stuck to meat and juice. Maybe it was because rubber and alcohol just don't mix well.

Luffy happily the toy G.I. Marines they found at the last island in a toy shop. They even found a set of similarly sized action figures of famous pirates including (weirdly enough) Buggy the Clown. The store-clerk said they had some Straw-Hat Luffy in stock but they'd been selling out so there was only one left. Which of course immensely thrilled the man who'd be Pirate King and he begged Nami for money.
"What's the big deal?" Nami wondered, "It's just a toy."
"Because it's cool and STRETCHY!" Luffy pulled on the toy's rubber arms.
Nami sighed but bought it.

"Pillow fight!" Luffy declared whapping Sanji on the head with a pillow.

In no time at all they had a very nice pillow ward going until . . .
"What is going on?!" Nami roared, barging into the boy's room.
"Nami!" Zoro protested as he scrambled to cover up.
"Ahhhh, Nami-swan is so forward in her advances!" Sanji cooed.
"Pillow fight," Luffy explained as feathers drifted down on his head.
"Got to sleep!" Nami yelled grumpily.
Luffy pouted, "Who needs sleep?"
"YOU DO!" Nami shouted furiously growing scary fangs that sent the boys running.

It was amazing how much could happen in just one week. Civil Wars and rebellions could be started and finished. Lives would change, some would end, others only just begin. Adventures all over the world would start, pirates arrested, marine's careers furthered, food stores devoured, bounties raised and fortunes lost.
On the other hand, it was equally impressive how little could pass in that grand expanse of time.
"I'm BORED!" Luffy whined yet again.
"We know!" Zoro answered.
"How long's it been?"
"One week," Sanji sighed.
Luffy moped, "How much longer?"
"Who knows."
"You're still grounded!" Nami informed the pirates.

Luffy stoled a quick kiss from his first mate. They didn't have much time, the marines were closing in from one side, bounty hunters on another, and fishman pirates on another angle, angry about some supposed insult from Luffy. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew was God knows where, Luffy having forgotten, and Zoro too lost to tell, though hopefully they had the ship with them.
"What was that for?!" Zoro demanded skidding to a halt.
Luffy shrugged, "Just because." Seeing that the swordsman still wasn't moving he added, "Because it's more frun when we're in all of this danger."

Luffy didn't even bother to glare, "Just wait," he growled and tore off.
"Damn that Luffy," Zoro grumbled, pacing back and forth, "Does he really think I'm just going to stay?!" Still, the swordsman continued pacing the deck.
"You're going to keep waiting," Nami interrupted, "Because you know him, and you know he must have a good reason."
Zoro grunted in disagreement but kept waiting.

Luffy laughed again, "No, I'm crazy, just like you," he clapped an arm around Sanji's shoulders.
Sanji spun around and roared at Luffy, "I'm not crazy, you idiot!"
