I'm SO FUCKING HAPPY to announce that I passed Part 2 of the EA exam yesterday!!!
All I have to do now is file a form with the IRS and await a background check before I get sworn in. Wondering what to do about that since I saw a warning when I went to download the form saying that they're working on reduced fees for EAs because of the new PTIN program we all had to pay for earlier this year. Well hey, it said I have 1 year from when I finish the exam completely (that'd be yesterday) to apply for enrollment...so even if the reduced fee's not ready til June, I should be fine waiting til later in the year to apply.
I just can't believe I passed EVERY part on the first try. One of my professors was saying that he worked with an EA at Deloitte and that while it's not as widely known as the CPA exam or designation, that his co-worker said he would've rather taken the bar exam again so this is a huge accomplishment.
Considering how 2011 came in with a total complete bang what with the apartment and crazy Murphy's Law NYE fest and the DYS show, I think 2011 = the year Rachel finally gets cut a fucking break.
Just happy to be moving along with my academic and professional lives...like I'm REALLY feeling it now. Passing that exam yesterday totally capped it for me. It's not official until I get sworn in and have a Treasury card but just the fact that I did the toughest part and got through it...I'm ready to handle whatever the world's going to throw at me!
And the Fall this year will probably be my very last semester, then I get my Master's.
