warning: more depressing news follows. :(
this past saturday night, while i was in ohio, one of eric's close friends was killed in a car accident. his name was troy hoffman and he was just 21 or 22 years old... i didn't really know him, but i had met him before and he was a really nice boy. he and his best friend kerry hepler (another one of eric's close friends) and another kid were at a party all night drinking... and kerry drove home. he was going around a sharp curve in hegins and hit a truck, then proceeded to run into a pole. troy was pronounced dead at the scene. :(
as for kerry, i believe he is in jail. he is being held for d.u.i. and homicide. i guess the maximum sentence he can get is 20 years... we shall wait and see... :(
i feel so sad for eric. he just told me last night that he had been crying... which really hurt me. i hate when people cry, especially someone i love as dearly as him. :( tonight is the viewing, and tomorrow is the funeral... we are going to both. it seems every year someone i or eric knows dies. :(
