Resident Alien

Spent much of yesterday evening and today on brink of tears. I have never felt I belonged anywhere (as a girl, I stupidly thought I would fit in once I got to Scotland, but then I never fitted in here either, outside academia), and the way things are going politically hereabouts, I feel even more alien and out of place.

I just have to survive long enough to get down to Dad's on 18th and then to Italy.
