I imagine him on an aging but loved Harley, or a Lister-esque space bike (one of those low ones), if that helps. And how pleased was I in The Strip when he's nagging Ryan about Vespas- reassured me that my hiatus fic wasn't completely off the mark!

Right, madam, first of all, welcome back! I've missed you. And what a return! This is a fab piece of work, Silver, just fab. There's too much I like to tell you every little thing, but..

The Summer conversation on the beach. All of it. I think you have Summer down to a T. Funny, and warm, and trying to coax Ryan out of his shell. Her tone - the way she compliments Ryan on his looks, his humour... I sense an undercurrent of attraction there, which of course has to be sublimated because of Seth - and because you wouldn't do that - but maybe I;ve been perverted by all the good Ryan/Summer out there. I suspect I'm right though...

The walking in to the house scene - the echoes of the Pilot - very good stuff there.

The Shawshank redemption - who's the big geek?

Thank you for reviewing so nicely, I very much appreciate it. I was so nervous about posting this chapter, you've no idea.

A lot was to do with the Summer / Ryan interaction, which I wanted to keep on the right side of flirtatious, with a bit of underlying lust thrown in. After all, the first thing Summer says when she sees him is "Who is that?!" You always remember liking someone that way even if you don't actually like them that way anymore. If Seth hadn't have been into Summer, Ryan so would have made his move.

The Shawshank redemption - who's the big geek?

That would be me. I love that film beyond all reasonable measure, from the script, to the beautiful cinematography, to Thomas Newman's achingly perfect score. To the extent that when I saw your chapter heading "Road to Perdition" I immediately thought, "Newman scored that film too." Geek of geeks, I am thee.

I can't keep up the pretence anymore, it's too hard! There won't be jumpsuits. *ducks* Which is a bit of a plot give away. But that's not to say it's going to be fun. There will be languishing, angst, fighting and possibly tears before bedtime. sad!guilty!angry!Ryan rocks. In fact I think I need an icon with that on it. *big soulful pleading eyes*
