Okay, so I was downloading Otalia clips off of YouTube last night (or early this morning depending on how you look at it) because I plan to spend this weekend playing catch up with their storyline. Well, my computer was being agonizingly slow so it was taking a lot of time to get this done.
Instead of wasting my time I looked around my room and discovered a glaringly large blank space where nothing had been put up. I then realized I didn't have any of my own artwork up in my room, which is where most people put their stuff. So I looked through my portfolio to try and find something I liked enough to look at on my wall...and found that no, I didn't have anything I want I my walls. Instead of giving up then and there I chose to make something new. And I did.
BEHOLD THE GLORY OF MY SEA-TURTLE!!
I shall call her Gladys. She will swim along my blue walls in all her charcoal radiance. I started drawing her at just after midnight and finished around two a.m., at which point I washed my hands of the black dust and realized I would seriously need to vacuum my floor if I didn't want to stain my socks. She is based off of this picture:
which is also my Desktop background.
Seriously, I am ridiculously proud of this sketch. I haven't drawn just for me in a long time. It's nice to do it again. It's about time I put a turtle/tortoise on my wall. It's only my favorite animal.
P.S. Just so you know, this isn't exactly a little sketch. It's 22"x14". I'm going to draw a companion for her from this picture:
It's going to be so cute.
