Thoughts and Feelings
TakkiTsuba - NEVER EVER change. Please
I had a lot of sadness last year this time when I could not see you, but you made it up to me completely! I wont go into super details, since other people have already done that all round the net, but just comment on the things that stuck out to me.
First of all, being there as we came into the venue...? Awesome. I was not expecting that! And holy crap they look SO MUCH better up close than they ever could on camera. We were kinda smooshed against the back as we went through and the staff kept saying 'come on you can see them inside' to which I wanted to reply oh that is SO not the same thing!
Secondly, Jess and my seats were REALLY good. We were in the arena, B1 block and we had really low numbers. So we were basically the third row back from one of the walkways and right by the main stage. My luck has been really shit with seats lately so I'm so happy that these turned out so well. Since they continued doing the interview as we waited, up on the big screens I kept spazzing out all over Jess's arm. The show was sort one part concert, one part talk, one part nostalgia, and one part sports day! Very cool.
And oh man, the dokkiri! Tsubasa got his panties in such a twist about it, it was completely adorable. He chidded us for not warning them, and I'm thinking 'oh? exactly how were we going to do that silly?' Yes indeed, TakkiTsuba fans are just a bit scary, but that was REALLY funny stuff. I can't wait for them to show it again of TakiChannel so I can see their faces better when they fell.
And I loved Takki's birthday present! As vaguely disappointed as I am that Tsubasa did not perv it up for us a little more, it was a really sweet present. It must have taken a lot of time and effort to arrange that for him. And the action figure was perfect!! Takki looked so happy! Tsubasa's gifts always seem like they are very thoughtful as opposed to Takki showing his love via extravagance.

In regard to the sports day portion, I was on Takki's team. He had to do the three legged race with a little boy right by us, which was so cute. But, as I kinda of suspected from the beginning, despite the fact that our team totally won the match.....Takki threw it at the end. He kept being all 'oh you missed' with the balloons we had so diligently passed up to the stage. Of course. Tsubasa always wins. Even when he loses, he wins. We had to beg him to let us have the prize too, after showing Takki we were thoroughly put out with him being completely WHIPPED. But in the end we all got the adorable clearfile

At the end they waved goodbye to everyone too! Since we had to line up single file for them pretty much, we all got a few seconds of their attention to ourselves. Since we were in the arena we were like practically the LAST part of the hall to leave. Jess and I decided to call 'Thank you!!' out to them, keep in short and simple...but we're foreigners after all so we may as well use English. So we called it out to them together as we went by. Takki got the most adorably happy and confuzzled look on his face. Happy to see us, but having NO IDEA how to respond. Tsubasa however, was totally smooth. He just got that big big smile on his face and said 'Thank you, goodbye!' to us in VERY GOOD english.
Let me tell you I try SO hard not to dissolve into squealing in front of them, but I couldn't help it. BOTH OF THEM. AT ONCE. ♥♥♥♥
The juniors handed us the clearfile and the calender on the way out, and both juniors who gave them to me said 'thank you' in English unprompted. And one who wasn't even the junior I was going by yelled out 'THANK YOU GOODBYE!!!!' at me as I left in that adorable teenage Japanese boy way that my students have. Super cute.
Ahhhhhh. It was an amazing weekend. Meeting all the other fans was awesome too. Jess of course came with me from Shimane, and our other friend S came down from her home to take one of my spare tickets. But we also met pinkpapyrus and spurious and...........shoot who was it? curiosa_cabinet? I think so. I was soooo happy to meet them all! I had a great time spazzing together with them before and after the show! pinkpapyrus ended up with my other spare ticket. I was just really happy I could give my extras to other fans, I would never want them to go to waste and leave empty seats at their show because of me :(
I also went with Jess to look at a neighborhood that has a lot of listings for apartments I like in Osaka this weekend, in preparation for the big move. I really loved Bentencho! Its on the quieter side but with good access to Umeda and Nanba. And its really pretty, there are surprising number of trees. I'm going to try and live there if I can!
After that we trolled bookoffs and walked up and down in southern Osaka all afternoon. I scored the new K8 bluray from one of the Nanba bookoffs, at a really good price!
All in all. Really good weekend! I look forward to more like it, and hope I can hang out more with all the lj girls!
edit: Did I mention the chart with Tsubasa on it went RIGHT BY ME. Like seriously, in an isle seat, chart came down that isle. Totally had a star struck moment and just kinda looked up at him with a big stupid grin on my face and gave him this meek sorta wave like 'hi....' gah. He's perfect, NO COMPLAINTS about his styling or anything that day
