I would like to see proper discussion happen here, and not just "AWESOME" or "WTF ARE THEY DOING?". I'm not posting this to romanticize their efforts, I'm posting this because I want people to THINK about their efforts and come to their own conclusions (though I'm not going to deny that the way this video is edited glorifies the event). I think I will debut my other blog at the end of the week so that we can have a constructive dialogue, because sometimes I think the culture of livejournal may prevent that.
Also, with this upcoming election, do you honestly feel like we're going into an era of positive change, or are we allowing the feeling of hope to overwhelm and disillusion us?
I only ask this because the events of 1968 really influence my perspective, and if you ask the focus group that I'm working with the same question: they will let you know of the devastation a taste of hope will lead to when it is taken away.
