New Computer HAPPTASTICATING!!
so i have already spent my tax refund....uh...but i haven't sent in my taxes yet. Whatever. I broke down and bought.......

i'm so excited. i've got wireless internet roaming around the apartment now....and my own computer that i don't have to kick heath off of (we still have the tower, but i've pretty much just let heath take that over for now...)
it's great. Everything works. It's so fast. And i haven't had any of the weird start-up bugs that my previous computers have had...
like, when you first turn on windows you have to download 100 new updates and patches. right off the bat. takes an hour before you can do anything.
and then, when you have to fight with your antivirus to get it to schedule to run a) when the thing is on and b) when you're not in the middle of something important.
and then...just turning it on and off...i timed it. 36 seconds on, 6 seconds off.
Granted i'm sure that some of it is the fact i have 4gb of ram in it....but it's so nice. And it's solid feeling. And light. It's got an aluminum body, and a backlight keyboard (that only comes on when the lights get dim, w00t!) And the light sensor triggers the screen brightness ( so when the backlight keyboard comes on the screen dims...)
i know that PC laptops are more affordable for people...but i feel like i've been converted so far. the only thing that irks me is the incompatibility of most programs...you have to buy the mac version seperatly. I know i'm not the only person to find that out...and i'm sure i'll get used to it. just means i have less crap on here.
