Letty's mind went boink again

Yep, another AU idea, and I really like this one, so I'mma write it down so I remember to use it someday. It also needs development, so I can ask for input and whatnot!

It isn't really one of my kinda angsty AUs, but it does have it's share of angst... It's a gameverse crossover AU, and it plays with an idea I got a while ago that has to do with something I noticed regarding numbers. There are, as of BW, seventeen protags/rivals. Red/Fire, Green, Blue/Leaf, Gold/Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Silver, Brendan, May, Wally, Lucas, Dawn, Barry, Hilbert, Hilda, Cheren, and Bianca. Well, there's also seventeen Pokemon types! So each protag/rival could have a type all to themselves! And then I thought about Arceus and the Plates and thought that could have something to do with each protag/rival gaining Pokemon type powers. I went through a lot of ideas about how that could be played with, and I like this crossover the best.

So we know that one item in the crossover is Pokemon. And that it's the main one. So now I'll tell the other! It's one of my favorite series ever, +Anima!! I love it so much~ The general idea, for those who don't know the series, is that some people have strange animal abilities. They can partially transform into their "Anima" at will, and have a few of that animal's abilities. +Anima are feared and discriminated against, and therefore usually keep their abilities secret. It's a little bit of a spoiler for the series, but I should explain that those who become +Anima in the series were not always +Anima. It's revealed that those who become +Anima have all experienced near-death situations before the age of fourteen, and their Anima appears to save them from it. For example, a drowning child might gain the Anima of a fish, and be able to breathe underwater in their Anima form. These near-death experiences are usually not accidents.

How this AU works is that each protag/rival has become a +Anima of a different type. They each had a near-death experience before turning eleven. There are other +Anima in the world, but we focus on the protags, yes? I have headcanoned that the Anima are granted by Arceus, who takes pity on the child. Discrimination against +Anima is very prevalent, and each region has its own method of "dealing" with +Anima.

Major points:
☔ All +Anima have a "birthmark" that appears with their Anima somewhere on their body. It's ususally a design that represents their Anima.
☔ Protags/rivals don't necessarily have to be from their canonical hometowns if it helps their backstory make sense.
☔ They may band together in small groups for safety, comfort, and companionship.
☔ If a character's Anima is of a Pokemon that evolves, they may "evolve" as well.
☔ They can only turn partially into the species of their Anima, and only gain a few abilities.
☔ The Anima a character receives depends on the method of their near-death experience and what wild Pokemon are found naturally in the area it occurs in.
☔ Villainous teams have different stances on +Anima, and various individuals may be as sympathetic or discriminatory as they wish. +Anima characters are free to have met all shades of discrimination along the way.
☔ The protags/rivals have likely all cut ties with their families, for varying reasons. Exceptions permitted, though not too many.
☔ Team Rocket wants to study +Anima and... Well, they're Team Rocket. You get the idea. Giovanni may or may not secretly be doing this as a way to try and find a cure for his kid, up to whoever picks him up if anyone does.
☔ Part of why Cyrus wants to recreate the world is to "rid it of the +Anima contamination". Team Galactic is highly discriminatory.

Annnd here's where I ask about interest and input. Anyone think this sounds cool?  Fun? Interesting at all?

And the main things I'd like input on...

1. Protag/Rival typings (Mainly for those interested in picking a character up, but it never hurts to ask.)
2. How each region generally treats +Anima (One should be kinda hippie and cool with them, the rest not so much.)
3. How Teams Aqua, Magma, and Plasma generally treat +Anima (I'd imagine Plasma would want to protect them, but. IDK.)
4. Methods of near-death that would result in each typing (Also mainly for those interested in taking characters, but let's have a mass-brainstorming session!)

So... Anyone interested? It'd be more fun to get several people in on it, I think, so... Help sharing it would be nice, too. Okay done!

seeking your input!, here she goes again, more ideas?!
