Ooooops... my bad ^_^*
Well... wouldn't you know it? This morning didn't go as smoothly as I would have hoped or planned ^_^*. My first day in my new position and already I messed up by doing something very stupid ^_^*. I was running a little late this morning, nothing too bad... just about 15 minutes or so, but I was rushing this morning because I didn't really want to be late. I got to work, and as soon as I pulled into a parking place, it hit me. I forgot to grab my office keys for the first time since I received keys a year ago. *Facepalm*.
So, I headed inside, knowing that there's a spare key down the hall in what used to be the HR department. I headed down that way, hoping that I could sneak in, grab the key, sneak out and let myself in without anyone really knowing what I was doing. Since HR moved to a different building, that door is locked now, and the only way to get in would be to call the business manager (my new boss) to let me in, and then I'd need an excuse... Instead, I used the phone in the hall to call Security, knowing that they would have a key to let me in, since they have all the keys. What did the new employee working there do? She called... the business manager to let me in... *cradles his head in his hands*
So here he comes down the hall, and I knew... instantly... that he knew. He let me in and he said with a little laugh (he was half serious and half joking a little, not much... but a little)... "You're late and you don't have your keys... not a good start." I sputtered back "I know... I know, I'm sorry..." I thanked him when he let me in *bangs his head against the wall a few times*.
So... not a great start to my new position... but... I know what I'm doing and everyone makes little mistakes... and technically, the first day in my new position isn't until Monday, since I always work on Thursdays and Fridays... So... it'll be alright. I'll just work harder today, stay a little later today... and everything will be alright ^_^.
