So... my brother and I have differing opinions...
See, when I saw his room, the words that fell out of my mouth were, "Dirty pig..." and he promptly informed me that he preferred, "Filth Wizard."
Yes, I was up late last night finalizing some things in the room... I say 'finalizing' as though I'm done. Basically I did the whole 'Supervisor' thing, in which I looked over the room, made a sound, and then looked over it again a few times as though something had magically changed about it.
Woke up early this morning and showered and took stuff out to my car. Headed upstairs to see if my brother was ready for the first load. Banged on his door (you have to bang, because if he's still sleeping, he won't hear you otherwise... even then it's 50/50). Banged again. He opened the door wearing his sleep clothes.
Me: *raising an eyebrow as he peeked around the edge of the door at me* "Uh... what're you doing? We're supposed to be moving in today."
Laszlo: "Yeah, I don't know, what? I know. I just woke up."
Me: "I see that. ... ..." *still standing in the hallway* "Uh... well... let me in."
Laszlo: "What?"
Me: "Let me in."
Laszlo: "Right." *opens the door all the way*
Me: *Walking in, noticing that absolutely nothing has been packed and his room is still in the horrible state of landfill that it had been for the four months we've been here* "Really? Really, Laszlo? Come on..."
Laszlo: "I uh... I didn't pack yet."
Me: "I see that." *walking through the room, noting the empty bottles of Stella Artois on the small table thingie that the rooms have. Right next to his gun.* "You know... I worry sometimes about you. I don't think you're ever going to be able to live on your own... How are you going to get this stuff done? I can't even see the floor..."
Laszlo: "I'll do it. I mean, I'll get it done."
Me: *Looking around* "Yeah..."
Laszlo: "Besides, the house isn't done yet."
Me: "What?!"
Laszlo: "Yeah, something about the rooms needing the second coat of paint or something."
Me: "Well... how are we going to move our stuff in then?"
Laszlo: *Giving me the shrug he's been giving me all morning.*
Me: "I mean... it's going to make it hard to move furniture and stuff if they haven't finished painting it yet..."
So I called my mother. I guess all the bedrooms are done. And in theory, they should be finishing the other two rooms that weren't done today. So right now, I'm sitting here trying to figure out if I should put a few of my other things in bags... just leave my brother here and take my first load over, despite my wanting to go there with him today... or just wait.
I think I'll check on him and see what his progress is, then I'll make up my mind from there. I could always pack up a few more things so that it'll be ready to load up when I finish with the first load.
I stopped down to chat with Courtney earlier. She looked at me with that groggy look in her eyes (she doesn't usually work mornings).
Courtney: "Stephen... do you run down the hallways?"
Me: *starting to laugh* "What?"
Courtney: "Do you run down the hallways?"
Me: *laughing full out now* "Yes, why?"
Courtney: "Because I could hear someone running down the hall upstairs while I was trying to sleep last night." *She's been sleeping at the Baymont for the last couple of nights because she's been working so much this week*
Me: *still laughing* "I didn't realize that anyone would hear it. That hallway is just so damn long! It's like the Sahara bed. It just seems to stretch on forever, so I run down it sometimes to make it go faster."
Courtney: *laughing* "Just don't do that again!"
Me: "I promise you that I will never do that again."
Courtney: "Yeah, now that you're moving out."
Ah, fun times ^_^. And Courtney said that whenever I need a room for anything (she was clearly hinting sexual, the winking gave it away *_~), she told me to let her know because she could get me some killer discounts ^_^.
Anyway, going to go check on my brother and go from there.
Peace, yo!
