I can't believe how busy I have been the past few weeks.

I had my first clinical yesterday.  I was placed in the Mother/Baby unit at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.  I will be there for another 3 days.  I was assigned to a nurse (who had 4 moms and 2 babies (3 of the babies were in the NICU)).   I got to feel the fundus (top of the uterus) on all 4 moms (I was really excited about that for some reason), do newborn assessments and bring babies to their moms.  I learned about different meds and procedures on the floor as well.  It went by REALLY fast, which I was really happy about.  Hopefully I will be in Labor and Delivery next week!!

I'm really frustrated with Crystal.  She hasn't made ANY progress on moving in.  She's been to the house *maybe* 5 times.  I'm not quite sure what to do with this situation.  She is supposed to be moving her things in on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays...but that hasn't happened.  She came on Tuesday night to do homework but didn't scoop the box, so it hasn't been scooped since Monday (when I scooped it because she was coming back from Vegas).  I fed the cats yesterday morning before I left for my clinical and they haven't had food or water since (I'm in Lawrence).  Apparently, things "got really crazy at the house...in Leahood" yesterday, so she wasn't able to make it.  I'm going to be moving the litter box into her room and telling her that she has 4 options.  1- she can start moving her shit in and take care of animals that are 100% dependent.  2- she can move them back home until she can get her shit together. 3- she can board them at the vet until she gets her shit together. 4. I will take them to a shelter so they can find a home where they will be taken care of.  I know it sounds harsh, but I'm being taken advantage of and she is neglecting her cats.  We agreed that she HAD to keep up with the litter box in order to keep both cats, and she's not keeping her end of the agreement.  I'm the one that has to deal with the fact that our house smells like shit.  Bottom line, they aren't my cats, they aren't my responsibility and I'm tired of being taken advantage of.

The situation with the PDA is almost completely resolved.  I returned it and they finally tested it.  Surprise, surprise, it was found to be faulty, so they sent me a replacement.  They shipped it the Thursday before Labor Day weekend.  It came yesterday morning at 8:36 am.  I was in clinical all day and Crystal was supposed to come by the house.  It sat on the front porch (which is completely exposed) until about 6 tonight when my mom came by and picked it up for me.  Now why CompuVest didn't request a signature upon delivery, I'll never know.  I mean, seriously, they'll let FedEx just leave a $400 product at the door??  I had checked my tracking number online to get the number for FedEx so that they wouldn't try a third delivery and then send it back to CompuVest, when I discovered that they had just left it at the door.

Anyway, Craig just got home and we need to go to dinner for Ryan's birthday, so I gotta go!
