Oy. So we made the plane reservations to go back to Ithaca on the 16th, and my mom needs a place to stay until Saturday. I was going to stay with her at least the first night until I get my room set up in the apartment. But, lo and behold, that week is Cornell's orientation (read: there are no fucking rooms anywhere in Ithaca or the surrounding vicinity). So I got on the reslife site and it says that people can check into the Circles everyday from 9am to 9 pm. Hopefully that's true, but I emailed them just to make sure. If that's the case then we could check in when we get there, throw some sheets on the beds and stay there. It would certainly save a lot of money.
So our vacuum that we've had forever is apparently giving off sparks whenever it's turned on. I suggested we take it out the driveway, set up some lawn chairs, fire up the vacuum and have us a good, old fashioned white-trash Fourth of July!
