I'm at the other side of a weekend that has been filled with decorating, wedding plans, band work and picking up a little bit of new furniture. I now have a book case sitting above my writing desk at home filled with books, DVD's and other assorted paraphernalia.
The novel is still being initially read by
oryctolagus and she's suggested one or two change which will get implemented. Patience all, it will get out there once I've done a bit more work.
oryctolagus also worked up some curtains this weekend in line with the last of the living room's initial make over. Painting left to do. Spent a little time checking out Carpets on Sunday and rugs. Not having been able to find a carpet we like to replace the one that's in there now we've decided to buy a tough but nice carpet and then get some pricey rugs to go on top. I managed, much to my own amusement, to disgust the salesman in John Lewis' when I suggested cutting up rug worth £1300 to make it fit the room as a carpet. "The rug should be frame" He protested. "You wouldn't cut up a piece of art would you?" he countered. I gave him a look that went with the thoughts trickling through my mind - the one that suggested that actually I would and if I want to change where the edges of something are meant to sit as a piece of art. Silly bloody idiot - no scope above what he sees in his little world.
The gig in Germany is still entrenched in negotiations but all is looking good.
The weekend finished with a couple of good films. THHGTTG & Escape from New York. Perfect. Busy but perfect.
This morning I'm missing having a garage in which to store the damn bike and do the minor jobs in - without freezing my hands off.
