Life, Set to Music

Prologue: It's becoming more and more clear to me every time I write in this thing that, if Meredith never updated her journal again, I might never be inspired to update mine. Ever. So I guess a "thank you" is in order. And most definitely a congratulations on your grad school acceptances and interviews.

OK, on to the music:

1.Total amount of music files on my computer:
Just shy of 700

2. The last CD I bought:
"Collision Course" (Linkin Park/Jay-Z mash-up)

3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this question?:
"Comfortable Liar" by Chevelle

4. Write down five songs that mean something to you:
"Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning)" by Vertical Horizon
"All For You" by Sister Hazel
"Something's Always Wrong" by Toad the Wet Sprocket
"Last Song" by The Nixons
"I Walk Alone" by Oleander

5. What song are you embarrased to like?
Sadly, it's that Kelly Clarkson song, "Breakaway". I thought it was a good song, then I found out who it was singing it. I guess that's enough embarassment for my standards.

6. Song you crank up when it comes on in the car?
"Epic" by Faith No More! (you want it all but you can't have it)

7. A favorite line from a song?
"Somehow if we were tethered her together we could weather out the weather here", from Sister Hazel's song "Swan Dive". Say it with a little twang, it's fun.

8. What group did you like before they became popular?
Godsmack, Staind, Nickelback, Three Doors Down, Default, Trust Company, Breaking Benjamin, The Calling

9. What song did you used to like, but can't stand now because they've overplayed it?
Good call Meredith... I'll have to add "The Reason" by Hoobastank

10. What has been "your song" with a bf/gf?
None of my past girlfriends really liked good music. Good music meaning the music that I listen to. April listened to a lot of Beatles and DMB, not really my cup of tea. Abby listened to a lot of show tunes. Nicole liked Kittie, don't really know any of their songs. And Meg listened to Top 40. I just kinda smiled and played along. But I probably would never have gone to a concert with any of them. And now, just to make sure all bases have been covered, Megan of course would have to be a hip-hop fiend. But at least she can't stand techno.

11. Group(s) that someone you know turned you on to?
Korn and Tool (thanks Johnny).

12. Song that never fails to make you dance?
"Love Rollercoaster" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, from "Beavis & Butthead Do America".

13. I need a good cry song?
"Forget" by Eight Stops Seven

14. Angry girl/guy anthem?
"Dig" by MUDVAYNE. (You ain't fuckin' changing me).
