I started this shortly after we got back from Ess Eff. It's been two weeks since, and I still haven't posted about it. Haven't been online much in general. So, with only a limited amount of editing - like, date and time - here is the first part of the review of our trip to San Francisco. Enjoy.

If I remember correctly, we got on the plane around 11:10 last night in San Francisco and arrived in Atlanta around 6:30 a.m., but don't quote me.

To learn more of what led up to our arrival in Atlanta,

Our hotel was Days Inn, Hayes Valley. Clean, and the light continental breakfast really helped. When I left the area was kinda run down, more projects nearby and so on. It's been 'revitalized', to say the least. For example, the freeway that fell down in '89 has been rebuilt. I lost track of how many times I blurted "that's new", starting with breakfast at Flipper's. The reviews here are mixed, but we liked it just fine. Next time, we'll try their burgers.
From there we went to the Homoland Castro, field trip so the Girl can get signed off for her homo certification. We stopped at Worn Out West and found a shirt, a pin, and a few other goodies, including a recommendation for a sushi place up the street. All Season Sushi was good food, friendly wait staff and reasonably priced. After stuffing ourselves on raw fish and wasabi, we decided that back to the hotel for a good sleep was the best plan of action, so away we went.
The next day was Friday. The premise of the trip was that the Lady had some garments that needed altering, so she took them back to their birthplace, Dark Garden. It was good to see Autumn again, get caught up on one another's lives in the past years. I also had the good fortune of finding an old dear friend in the phone book, despite years of trying and failing to find him online. A little phone tag led to a number of another of that pack, and we were off to the "TenderKnob" to visit Mike. It's strange and wonderful to see friends who've known me so long. Chosen family. Thankfully he was hungry, and took us to a burrito shop. They were huge. I ate the whole thing all to myself (in two sittings), and it was fresh and hot, as opposed to shared with 5 other people after having been on a plane for 14 hours. Happiness. In between burritos and Mike's apartment, he stopped by the dispensary to do us a favor. Once upon a time non-members could also go into the pot clubs, but I guess so much governmental harassment has made them want to keep the feds happy. We waited downstairs getting tips about which doctors and how to get the cards and so on, as well as hearing a little about how the movement has progressed and which way it seems headed. It's just a plant, and they're dispensing fine medicine on the Barbary Coast.

Mike lives just around the corner from a place that we'd hoped to visit, Foot Worship. If you get shoe-eyed dumb from those kinds of shoes, this is the place for you. I was rewarded with this, for what I don't know, but I'm glad the Lady loves me. I'm also glad she was able to think, because I was just dumb afterwards.

We walked. And walked and walked and walked. I started with liquid insoles, but the right foot busted some time Friday. My water broke.
