Earlier, I recced werewolfbigbang and now that posting has finished, I thought I'd rec three of my favorites from this year's crop.

My Eyes Choose to Blur (and my body unwinds) by FaeryQueen07
Die Hard 4, McClane/Farrell, NC-17, ~89,000 words
For the past twenty-three and a half years, Matt Farrell has been hiding what he is from everyone he, save the odd friend or two. Discovering, at the tender age of thirteen, that he was gay wouldn’t have been so upsetting if he didn’t already have to deal with being a low-ranking werewolf as well. But just as Matt resigned himself to a life of solitude, bigger-than-life John McClane blows into his life, and after that, nothing is the same, not even Matt.

Teen Wolf and Harry Potter fusion, Derek/Stiles (friendship/pre-slash), PG-13, ~21,000 words
Derek Hale, a sixth-year student (and werewolf) at Hogwarts, discovers that he’s bonded spontaneously to Stiles Stilinski, a second-year student. So, he does what any other werewolf would do - befriend the younger boy to get closer to him. Derek's sister tries to play matchmaker, Stiles remains oblivious, the Hunters want his blood, whilst his own uncle is a rabid werewolf purist who hates humans (and Stiles' father). Unsurprisingly, Derek wishes everyone would leave them alone.

A Skill Hell Hath Trained by revenant_scribe
Supernatural, Sam/Dean, R, ~33,000 words
Sam pulled into Red Lodge expecting a straightforward hunt, something to take his mind off the recent loss of his father to the demon that killed his mother. What he gets instead is the company of a hunter with sharp edges, a monochromatic view of the world, and an unconventional companion. Turns out the vampires might not be Sam’s biggest challenge with this hunt.

All three of these are some of the most unique fics I have ever read and so wonderfully written! I would happily read another 100,000 words for each of them. :)
