Thoughts on Being Human episodes 1 and 2

Episode 1

Ouch, I have spent a great deal of time standing underneath that war memorial. It's going to be spot the place in Bristol with this programme.

I liked the introductory voice over from Annie, but I was glad that it didn't continue throughout the episode.

They like sitting on floors and hugging (even when there is actually furniture). The do it twice.

Bristol accents. Hee! I really don't miss them.

The werewolf is so cute as he is trying to find somewhere to change in the woods.
Aw the house! I'm sure I used to know people who lived on that street!

"I killed it with a shoe." Poor imaginary pigeon.

Annie is very sweet, it was very sad when she kissed the bottle.

Hmm, big things are gonna happen in the supernatural world with the Vampires coming out. Doesn't look as if it will be a True Blood/Mercy Thompson style integration with the humans deal. [http://www.patriciabriggs.com/books/books.shtml]

I'm guessing that the boyfriend pushed her down the stairs?

On Mitchell not vampiring the girl
Annie: "You think he could have saved her"
George: "I think he did." That exchange illustrates all George's issues with being supernatural.

Episode 2

The guy playing Tully was very good - a mixture of charming and creepy.

Meeting the neighbours was very funny. Hmmm - Vamp boy is trying to insure himself against the disastrous coming out that will happen in the future?

Poor Annie, she really did love her fiancé. But watching Tully eat was a little odd.

The chicken thing was very funny. Yes, let us mark out a boundary by dragging a chicken around on a string. Because chicken is so lovely tasting that the werewolf will follow it in circles!?? WTF?

So what exactly are the vampires planning?

Hmm, I bet Tully is the one who bit George.

The video was very creepy with the vampire not showing up on camera. You knew where it was going, and it reminded me very much of the first episode of True Blood, although the vampire was visible in that one.

Yes, I was right about Tully turning George into a werewolf. They did look ridiculous snarling at each other with the fake teeth. Unfortunately I find it very hard to find George scary.

Tully’s attack on Annie really disturbed me. The flashing between threatening and charming was horrific.

In retrospect, I really didn't like the second episode. I thought that it was very good but having been in a situation where a housemate switched between being charming and nasty, I found it very unsettling and it cut a little bit too close to home.

In short I thought both episodes were excellent, but that I didn't expect it to be quite as dark as it is.  I'm definitely continuing to watch.  It was funny and I love getting to see all the familiar bits of Bristol.
