23 February 1982: As Laura Dorny

I meant to write about how sore I was and how much I wanted to sleep through today this morning, but that was before we got our casting for Sound of Music.

Pip, Graham, anyone, you won't be seeing me for a LONG time because I'm going to be paying through the nose to spend half of my time with Charlie and his piano. I already know the tunes of course, because who didn't see Sound of Music at the West End last year, right? (I know at least one of you did because Petula Clark brought in hordes, the goddess.) I hate the idea of following her as Maria even if it's Candlelight and not the West End, but I'm no Petula Clark so Charlie, you know we'll be in touch just like we have been.

Oh and we've had some very creative casting for the kids. All out, really. Very weird. I'm playing a nurse to people older than

Other news -- Cameron's back! I didn't know until I saw him at rehearsal when he blew my mind with some Sondheim. I don't know how that happened but it's been a hectic few weeks, sorry Cam, I know I used to be the new girl when you were here but I'm not anymore. I guess you'll just have to settle with playing opposite the Harpy, but unless you've changed a lot, I doubt you'll mind.

Anyway, Alyssa, you'll have your work cut out teaching me how to dance. I'm not bad but I've never quite had that internal metronome bit, right? Charlie and me as the Captain and Maria; I couldn't be more excited to finally have a role opposite Charlie where he can't find a reason to grope me.

And apparently my little cousin Bradana's getting married, my mum says, that's really sweet, but if it lands during our Shakespeare my head just might explode. Weddings everywhere these days, it's getting hard not to notice.

Oh. Are we really going to have Ian play all the Nazis, or is that a joke?
