【Uta no ☆ Prince-sama ♪】 lyrics： Maji LOVE☆Revolutions ／ THANK YOU
Hisashiburi da yo ne~ I apologize for my prolonged absence since I haven't posted in over a month now, but between mounds of home/classwork and finals coming up in about 4 weeks, I haven't been able to do much else. And I just spent my spring break sightseeing in London, so I wasn't on my computer much at all for the last week. So that's why I haven't responded to any messages that've been sent to me yet, because I'm still en route to home and am waiting to get there to give them the time their responses deserve, but again, I'm busy as heck so it may be a while longer... That said, I have seen the first episode of UtaPri Season 3 : "Maji LOVE Revolutions" (and I don't think I'm spoiling anything by stating that the episode consisted of character re-introductions and then a tiny bit of context and plot setup...plus everyone feeling the need to say "REVOLUTION" repeatedly *yay uber-title dropping*) and even managed to get the first two song releases translated! So let's do this thing!
(Maji LOVE Revolutions)
- Like it's predecessors, Season 3's ED theme also shares the title and features STARISH. And I have to say, as awesome as the animated choreography is for these ED themes, this time it kinda freaked me out! I was not expecting MMD-ish 3D computer models! ><
- Now I know there are a few of you out there who, like me, enjoy playing the "FIND THE UTAPRI CHARACTER SONG REFERENCES IN THE THEME SONGS!" game, but you, like me, will probably have trouble doing so at this time. So far, the official site has only listed the first track title for each of the 7 character albums and absolutely NO information about who's singing which. There's no album art up yet either, and all of this makes me think this is a ploy to avoid revealing spoilers/episode or plot order. And to make matters even more confusing, the number to character songs per album varies, so about half of the albums only have the standard 2 tracks, and the rest have 3-4. At first, I thought some of the extra tracks might be for QUARTET NIGHT characters, but then they're getting their own album with "The dice are cast," so I guess that might not be plausible anymore. There will also be other songs released with the Blu-ray/DVDs. Regardless, you're welcome to place your bets over which one belongs to which character! I'll even provide the known track titles for ya:

The only ones I have any semi-firm suspicions about are 「NEVER...」 = Tokiya (since he usually saved for last), 「Saintly Territory」 = Masato (he usually has themes like that, right?), and 「Code:T.V.U」 = Ren (for reasons I can't explain other than it feels right). But again, these are just guesses and could be completely wrong, so don't quote me on that!!
- As you may have noticed if you've heard the full version of the song already, in the instrumental break before the final refrain, you can hear the melodies from "Maji LOVE 1000%" and "Maji LOVE 2000%"~ XD

- As per usual, the second song released with the ED theme is slower-paced and more lyrical (and will probably be inserted into one of the later episodes). And, like "Maji LOVE Revolutions" gave a shout-out to it's predecessors, "THANK YOU" also has a line mentioning "mirai no chizu" (as in "Mirai Chizu"/"Map of the Future"; the season 1 insert song) and "yume o ou SYMPHONY" (as in "Yumeoibito e no Symphony"/"Symphony for Dream Chasers"; season 2 insert song)~
- Yeesh, I thought this song was gonna be cute (don't get me wrong; it really is!), but the lyrics make it sound like Haruka's leaving forever or something! Dx (What is this, a break-up song??) Well, maybe it's alluding to how the AllStar video games focus more on the QUARTET NIGHT senpai than the original STARISH 7. At this point, it can't be said whether or not the anime will be focusing more on the senpai, but based on the limited album information (like the number being released, say), I'm skeptical about that (not that I don't love our STARISH boys, but I wanna see more of QUARTET NIGHT). Meh...who knows.
Oh, speaking of the first episode of the new season, I hope those of you who did watch it noticed that when each of the guys were introduced, instrumental versions of their idol songs from last season played in the background~ (or in the case of QUARTET NIGHT, their AllStar After Secret idol songs)~
Well, another reason I haven't posted in a while is that I haven't been able to find a lot of the recent releases' kanji lyrics. I simply cannot find Shuu's "KISS♥MARK" from Diabolik Lovers, nor the DARK FATE themes "Guilty×Guilty!!!" or "S.O.S-ΑtoΩ-" (though I did manage to find the spoken bits from "Kyuuai LABYRINTH" that I was missing, so I'll get to those eventually). I have found the latter two romanized for some reason, but knowing how Rejet likes to play with word pronunciations and meanings, that's no help at all. So if any of you have access to the booklets or the kanji lyrics, please share!! No, seriously: PLEASE HELP!!!
As for UtaPri MLR, the next release will be Mamo with the OP theme, "SHINE", next Wednesday. That said, I have no idea when I'll have time to work on much of anything translation-wise, so I must ask you to be patient a while longer...

Well, maybe it's alluding to how the AllStar video games focus more on the QUARTET NIGHT senpai than the original STARISH 7. At this point, it can't be said whether or not the anime will be focusing more on the senpai, but based on the limited album information (like the number being released, say), I'm skeptical about that (not that I don't love our STARISH boys, but I wanna see more of QUARTET NIGHT). Meh...who knows.
Oh, speaking of the first episode of the new season, I hope those of you who did watch it noticed that when each of the guys were introduced, instrumental versions of their idol songs from last season played in the background~ (or in the case of QUARTET NIGHT, their AllStar After Secret idol songs)~
Well, another reason I haven't posted in a while is that I haven't been able to find a lot of the recent releases' kanji lyrics. I simply cannot find Shuu's "KISS♥MARK" from Diabolik Lovers, nor the DARK FATE themes "Guilty×Guilty!!!" or "S.O.S-ΑtoΩ-" (though I did manage to find the spoken bits from "Kyuuai LABYRINTH" that I was missing, so I'll get to those eventually). I have found the latter two romanized for some reason, but knowing how Rejet likes to play with word pronunciations and meanings, that's no help at all. So if any of you have access to the booklets or the kanji lyrics, please share!! No, seriously: PLEASE HELP!!!
As for UtaPri MLR, the next release will be Mamo with the OP theme, "SHINE", next Wednesday. That said, I have no idea when I'll have time to work on much of anything translation-wise, so I must ask you to be patient a while longer...
