yes, i suck at updating - but you'll just have to forgive me, because i was too busy graduating from library school. yep, i'm finally a librarian! i had a great time last weekend visiting family and eating some delicious olive garden after the ceremony. my party was fun (even if not that many people came), and i walked away with some sweet graduation cash and a new pretty sewing machine! now i just need to learn how to sew. (well, i know HOW to sew... i'm just not very good. but now i can practice!)
last week was long, but this weekend was pretty fun. i hung out with chelsea all day friday - we went over to tina's (our coworker's) house and helped her with her yard sale, then we went back to chelsea's to jump on her trampoline, and THEN chelsea came over to my apartment and we went to see shrek 3 with jared and miranda. shrek 3 wasn't as good as the other shrek movies, but still pretty funny & cute, so i didn't mind. i guess i'm easily entertained. saturday i had to work, but jared and i grilled out that night and had chase and bill over to eat and watch the departed. i knew nothing about the movie going into it, which is usually fine, except that i thought this was supposed to be a scary movie (i think i got it mixed up in my head with the descent), and it turned out to be an irish mobster movie. needless to say, i was a bit surprised. it was very good, but i'll probably never watch it again - i'm not really a huge fan of mob movies in general. but like i said, still a good movie. on sunday, jared and i bought some vegetable plants for our patio, a new bookcase for his room, and an ottoman for the living room. we had dinner at his parents' house later that evening and spent the night cleaning out the jeep and putting together the bookcase. i didn't get to sleep until 3am, which has made me a very tired erica today.
but, happy day! i checked my email this morning and found one from someone at the worthington public libraries. i had applied to worthington a while ago and never heard anything - but apparently they are selecting a few people to "learn more about" before they start interviewing people, and i was selected as one of those candidates! i have a list of 5 questions i have to answer by thursday, and i guess if they like my answers enough, i might get an interview. here's hoping, right? this is the first good thing that's happened to me on the job front, so i'm naturally really excited about it. maybe i will find a job this summer after all! (of course, i have no idea how many other people they are "learning more about," so i'm trying not to get my hopes up.)
anyhow, back to work. i'll try to update more later, if i think of it.
