First the rating issue which, I still think is utter crap even after all these years. As I told
who_in_whoville, don't know why FF.net's slogan is "Unleash Your Imagination". But whatever. This is nothing to what this so-called "Critics United" group is doing. They pose themselves as 'constructive criticizers' and really they're all just a bunch of bullies.
timelord1 gives us some information
here and I found (some of?) the screenshots
here.
Don't know why I haven't favorited
timelord1 at ff.net yet (except maybe for the fact that I hang around LJ more often now... XD ), but I will do soon and will also be getting another account to join in.
This is utterly ridiculous. I've been a member since 2003 and have never seen such BS going on. I've always felt relatively safe at ff.net (just had a few BS encounters with being accused of plagiarism once :( and a recent one where the pairing I shipped was basically attacked since they didn't ship them... o.O ) This group is just going too far, though. Constructive criticism does not include foul language.
Admittedly, I've seen some really bad fic over the years. However, this does not excuse anyone from being a total prat. Direct people to beta readers, offer to beta read if you can, point out typos/blatant errors, stop reading, shut the hell up, stop wasting your time, but don't go talking crap.
