Success of the Barnibus variety!!!
Thank you for your well-wishes, everyone!!!! Jeff (our vet) called earlier to give me the good news. Barney is out of surgery! They removed a massive ball of hair (various sources, probably), grass, and rope toy... now mixed with barium and food. Yuck. But the good news is that he was able to get everything out through the stomach rather than having to make multiple incisions. That should speed healing along.
I was used to seeing treads and things when I cleaned up the yard, so I thought everything was going right through him, but I guess this time it all tied itself up in a giant knot that was too big to get through.
If he's able to keep food down by tomorrow, we get to take him home then! I thought maybe I'd get better sleep last night since we wouldn't have him waking us up to go out or anything, but I kept waking up panicked because he wasn't in bed with us. I need my puppy back!
