I've been going back and forth on whether I actually want to attend this halloween party at Miche's... Yesterday she came over and I told her I would be there, but sadly I have yet to actually make that decision. I don't know if I really want to be around close to 30 people for several hours really...
I can't do that beatnik idea I had come up with because the shirt I was going to use has a big hole in it and I don't have the right shoes for it either. So I came up with a second idea that is actually kinda lame (or so I've been told by a few people already) but if I do attend the party then that is what I WILL have to dress up as. Red v-neck sweater with a bit of argyle on the front, black slacks with my red kitten heals... add on a lanyard with a fake ID and voila, I'm a teacher. Not the best costume idea, but it's all I have left. I'm thinking about carrying around a ruler or maybe a clipboard just for an added touch, but I don't know if I really want to carry either around for the majority of the party (as people will be showing up throughout the whole night.)
As far as I know Miche will be picking me up sometime in the early afternoon to help her decorate (which I promised early on, and still have all intentions of doing so.) I will change into costume there, but if I decide I don't want to be there for the full party, once 7 pm rolls around I'd be able to have Brian come pick me up to go home. Easy either way to stay there or go home early.
I don't have a pumpkin this year, I'm sad about it really. Even if I didn't carve it, it still would've been nice to have one out on our balcony. I'm hoping I can get some of those gourds that look like mini-pumpkins from the grocery store to decorate inside the apartment, along with some fake autumnal leaves for on the dinning table to make a centerpiece with the gourds.
Brian and I have been talking about getting a new dinning table, and we finally found one we like and is a reasonable price. He told me we had to wait until winter to get it (damn economic crisis, raising grocery prices and such.) I'm really hoping though that I can sway him to get it in November in order to have it for thanksgiving. Now, we WIlL be at my parents for thanksgiving, as usual, but this year sometime around then we will be doing our own thanksgiving together. Maybe some cornish game hens, green beans and sweet potato souffle. A pie or two. Something really nice for the two of us, a candle lit dinner with wine and the fireplace dvd running on our tv (can't use our real fireplace, d'oh) Oh there goes the whole romantic side of me again... *sigh*
Anyways, have to go now. Laundry, dishes, etc. Hope everyone has a nice day!
