Mr. Michael B. Finnegan, no words can describe what your family went through that day when they found out that you went missing, then found out that you have died.
You don't realize how many lives you touched since that awful day. I can only pray that your wife and children know how much you truly loved them; I pray that they are comforted among friends and family at this time. I pray that your children know that you are watching over them and that the angels surround them in comfort and healing. May your legacy be with them always.
You're more than just a name, more than a number. At one time, you were living and walking among us. You had friends and family that are still grieving your loss. It may be five years later, but it still feels like yesterday to close ones. To me, you're not a number; you were someone who was loved and is dearly missed still.
I personally don't know you, sir, but from what I've read about you, you were caring and compassionate towards other people. Your golfing buddies miss hitting the links with you; co-workers from CantorFitzgerald that survived may have your picture hanging up, wishing that you were here.
I don't know if you knew Christ as Savior, but if you did (and your actions toward your family and friends show this), I look forward to meeting you in Heaven one day. Until then, rest in peace.
