classes and other things
Oh My God I think I love my World Lit class. ::snuggles it:: It's not gonna be the easiest, but my teacher is very nice, very knowledgeable, and very appreciative of any insight a student tries to give a story or poem, even if the insight is complete and utter BS.
When some of the students seemed extremely shocked at Kabir's metaphors showing God as an erotic lover, I pointed out that the very idea is ancient, not new, and that Kabir is hardly the first poet to take that kind of stand. My teacher just stood there like she was kind of shocked (I've never spoken in there before... in fact, I've never even really looked her in the eye >.>) and then she just kind of smiled and nodded and pointed out exactly how correct I was.
Later, when I raised my hand once more, she stopped what she was saying just to point to me and said "You now, you seem to know what you're talking about, you seem to have read a lot on this. What do you think?" I almost died. I squeed inside, but outside I just kinda smiled and tried to live up to her opinion. One of my questions on our quiz was apparently worth reading aloud to the class. I almost spontaneously combusted when she grinned at me.
And the literature we are studying right now (well, this last week) was Hindu and Buddhist poetry and prose. I have a love of that kind of writing, and I can't wait for Taoism this week. ^^
In other news, we, we being me and Jenneh, are very much lazy little girls. We... we didn't so much... well, we didn't what I like to call "go to class" today. -_-; It was her fault, it really was. I just kind of overslept when I meant to get up for the second class. >.> Oh, I felt horrible. I need to not do that again.
American Idol is so entertaining. Some of those poor people... I feel horrible for laughing at their pain, but really, it's not that hard to know when you suck. I cannot sing. See? I'm just that bright.
Lilandra got some skills and feats last night, and we have her familiar all laid out, just waiting til we can get him. I'm so excited about Saturday. Well, excited and kinda scared, but Jeb is not gonna let me get out of it or freak out over it, so no reason to worry. -_-;
