My brain's quite good at compiling random thoughts / factoids about the day and make them into a thought salad for my consumption at night. Here are the elements from last night's:
- Mom.
- Mom's best friend.
- Mount Gambier, that only resembled the actual Mount Gambier by the fact that it was a mountainous area with a lake smacked into the middle of it. This lake, however, featured a sunken ship, no sight of the shores on the other side and resembled a mini-sea. Lots of tall woods surrounding the lake with a dirt road leading to the shore.
- Mount Gambier city, that only resembled the actual Mount Gambier by the fact that it was a small-ish city. Had lots of dilapidated motels, painted in yellow and green and furnished with old wooden tables and chairs.
- Cats and kittens. One kitten, a calico one with very long lanky body, liked to drape over my arms, stretch her equally long thin legs and knead my biceps. A number of other cats milling around our feet and furniture.
- Aborted road trip.
For context, the following day-time ingredients likely contributed to this:
- Talks with mom about her impending visit
- Talks with mom about her best friend's likely-aborted impending trip to Melbourne
- Ideas of places to take mom once she's here
- The re-appearance of the ginger cat from July, whom I spied trotting after random passerby from my kitchen window the other day. I heard no sad miaos for the night, so I presumed he did find his way home. Had never been so conflicted about not saying hi to a cat before, good grief.
