Whoa. Tonight was pretty quite edge of your seat. I watched the season finale of Burn Notice tonight and boy, was it suspenseful! It's going to make waiting for the new season pure agony! If you've never heard of Burn Notice before, here's a quick summary:
Michael Westen, a covert operative who freelanced for the CIA, is given a burn notice (a warning to others that the agent is dangerous). As a burned spy, he's cut off from everything: all his assets are frozen and he's trapped in a city (his hometown of Miami, FL). Now he spends time trying to figure out who burned him and taking up odd jobs with his two friends, Sam Axe (a former Navy SEAL and intelligence operative, who informed on Michael to the FBI, at least for while) and his ex-girlfriend, Fiona Glenanne (a former IRA operative who is trigger-happy (seriously!) and likes to blow things up).
There's also Michael's mother, who he tries to ignore, but they have a odd relationship. The first season was spent mostly the jobs and trying to find out who burned Michael. The second season has focused on him working for the people who burned him, particularly a woman named Carla, while still trying to help people in need of his unique skills.
If you've been watching the series, then you know Michael was nearly killed when Carla's mission failed (someone blew up both his loft and the sniper headed to kill whoever was supposed to be killed. Well, Michael found him: Victor, an operative of Carla's who had assisted on one of the tasks Michael was suppose to do. So Victor is being held by Michael who is trying to figure out what to do with him. Michael hates working for the people who burned him so he's trying to find a way out. It just so happens that Victor is a burned agent, too. Victor was running a CIA mission in Mexico when it went bad and an explosion killed his wife and young son. Carla calls him and he starts to work for her until he finds out Carla is the one who killed his family. So Victor starts trying to wreak havoc within Carla's organization.
Michael researches this and finds out it's true. So Victor becomes a client of Michael's. They recover documents Victor had gathered on Carla for blackmail material, all the while evading Carla's soldiers (great scenes! Fi was awesome in blowing up some cars!), until they are trapped on a boat. Victor is shot! And Carla tries to give Michael one last chance while a helicopter is circling (Carla's boss and the person who burned him, I believe). And then it happens: Fi shoots Carla and it all gets chaotic.
Victor, however, gets Michael to kill him (*shocked*). This upsets Michael greatly (he hated Victor when they first worked together, but after everything in this episode, he came to understand him).
So Michael takes Carla's documents and presents them to the boss, putting forth the image of the Ace Agent who managed to get rid of two rouge operatives. However, all Michael wants is for these people to get out of his life. The boss protests (kind of like a teacher would talk to a child) saying they've been protecting Michael from enemies he picked up in his days as an operative. Michael doesn't care and jumps out of the helicopter into the ocean. Carla's organization backs off and Michael is on his own.
Victor was a surprise. He started out very unlikeable; I certainly didn't like him, but I was sad to see him be killed (and even more shocked that Michael helped with that, I figured he would allow him to escape and make the boss believe Victor had escaped him).
From the looks of it, Michael is going to face a lot of old enemies from his past. Won't be pretty, but with this series, nothing is quite predictable...except for Fi wanting to shoot something (and explosions, always count on explostions). It's a great series. My brother hooked me onto it.
And now for the second whammy of the night. Actually, I knew about it for awhile, but the chapter only just came out. XD
HINATA'S ALIVE!!! And this means Kishi gave me a Hinata confession as a birthday present!! XD Okay, no, but my birthday turned out better than I thought it would be (you know, worrying over Hinata's fate).
Six tailed Kyuubi Naruto is awesome!! XD But he crushed the necklace! So no more Yamato trying to seal Naruto! How exactly are people going to calm Naruto down now? And if Pain defeats Kyuubi Naruto now, after all the awesome, I'm going to throw something to Japan (and hit Kishi on the head).
Hyper...and I've got to go somewhere tomorrow... XD Oh boy...
