This is my entry for the pumpkin pie contest over at Harmony Forever. My aunt helped me with some things, like cutting the pumpkin itself. I can't cut the pumpkin. I'll likely cut myself. My brother took the pictures. He's becoming quite the photographer!
Pumpkin Pie Recipe
1 Pumpkin
Cut pumpkin in half. Remove seeds and excess ‘guts’
Cut pumpkin in pieces as shown. Remember to cut the skin off as well.
Put at least half of the pumpkin into a pot, cutting it as shown. Pour about a cup of water into the pot.
Once done, cook the pumpkin pieces with the stove eye at 4. Cook and stir until the pumpkin begins looking mushy.
This is the pumpkin halfway done.
3 eggs
1 ½ cup cooked pumpkin
½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup white sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon all spice
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cup canned cream (or 1 teaspoon milk)
Put eggs in a large bowl and use mixer to beat on speed 4 lightly for 1 minute.
Add other ingredients and beat on speed 4 for 1 ½ minutes, scraping bowl often.
This is what the pumpkin looks like when done.
Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake 15 minutes at 450 degrees.
Bake 45 minutes longer at 350 degrees until a knife comes out clean when inserted in the center of pie.
Pie after the first 15 minutes.
Done! This recipe will make two pies.
