I've got to say...after the interviews Sarah Palin has given, she did very well representing herself and McCain in the VP debate. Overall, I still think Biden took the debate, but not by nearly as wide a margin as I'd expected given recent showings ( Read more... )

See, I came in confident on Biden and feeling sorry for Palin.

Oh, don't get me wrong. She did look better than she would have otherwise because she had been so terrible initially. I agree. At the same time, I still expected more of Biden. I think he was solid on most of the second half - there were only a couple of moments where I was "hm...let's fact check that" or caught him misapplying a phrase - he substituted McCain for Obama at one point, but clarified. Palin was much worse on facts, but Biden was all over her on that.

Heh, the reiteration thing didn't bother me at all. I don't think sarcasm necessarily has a place in a VP debate, but that was how it felt to me.

Overall, yes, Biden wins. No surprise. The surprise was that she came out and actually communicated effectively, given her recent interviews.

Besides, this is *old* news now. Now I'm irritated that the bail-out has gone through with some very dangerous clauses (raising the coverage limit on bank loans from 100k to 250k, when the coverage is what made the whole debacle possible in some respects due to the masking involved)...granted, some additives are good...but the big thing?

State of California - Arnie is saying they'll be out of money sometime this month, and is asking for 7 billion from the Fed already. Awesome.

I'm going to have to go find somewhere where I can watch the first half of the debate; apparently I missed some interesting stuff.

I thought the increase from 100K to 250K was on insurance on savings accounts, not on loans...have I had that wrong in my brain?
