Brand New Cover Art
I've gotten so lax about posting here on LJ. My bad. However, with posting every day over on Penumbra, in addition to various writing projects, there's just so many hours in the day, and just so much inspiration to go around.
My writing life is full of good news/bad news. The good news is always better. I have my new cover art for FAERIE FIRE. You can go visit PenumbraI also have another set of edits and revisions on FIRE. Which means that my NaNoWriMo project is mostly stalled out. I was only up to 15K words (approximately) so I'm all but hosed on finishing NaNo with a win this year. I also got a push from my editor to start work on the third book. So...while I'm in the headspace of Abhean, Manannan Mac Lire, and the humans they so love to muck about with, I've started work on FAERIE FOOL at the same time. I edit a bit and as a reward for meeting pages, I get to write a little. Unless I shut down everything else in my life, there's no way I'll catch up with 35K words between now and November 30. I'm a little sad, but that's okay. Four years ago when I participated in my first NaNo, I had only the dream of being a published writer. Now I am one!
Thanksgiving is coming up and I have so much to be thankful for--nere_ayo came through all her surgeries with flying colors this year. We're anticipating only follow-up appointments from now on. Plans for her marriage to Baseball Boy continue. She has so much good going on with school and professionally right now, I can't even begin to elaborate.
I have a wonderful family and dear friends. There are romance writers I've met have helped me along my way with encouragement, introductions, critiques, and quotes. I love writing, love being able to say with a huge smile, "Yes, I'm a writer. My first book comes out next April with the second to follow not long after." (I hope! I really need to finish edits so it can be put on the production schedule!!)
Life is pretty mellow right now, considering the state of the world. We're lucky and I'm thankful for that.
