Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrate - and have a lovely holiday time!
I've had the week from hell - I was hit (in my car) by a huge bus this time last year, and it had to be sorted out in the civil court cos the bus company doesn't have insurance.....so we go to court on Monday last and I get told by my barrister - just tell the truth and all will be fine.
Not so - I was in the witness box for 1.5 hours being torn to shreds by some bastard of a barrister and the bus driver gets up and tells a pack of lies with tears in his eyes - he's had 4 accidents in the last 2 years and his job is on the line now - and guess who the bitch of a woman judge believes?????
Yep! Not me.
I was 'obviously in a rush to pick up my kids from school'....'case dismissed'.
Next time I will lie through my teeth and weep.
My solicitor wants to appeal to a higher court, but frankly I didn't trust the 'justice' system before and after this I never will again. All costs have to be paid by me of course ( my insurance co. picks up thank god ) as well as the cost of damage to the car - which was 80% of its value.
So all you guys in UK - get the best bloody barrister you can and make sure it's a man and he's a nasty pice of work - or else forget it!!
