Attack of the Hutts, part IX
(12 m from Lol's ship, Borga's underground hangar, 300 km from the nearest cantina)
Hurry, K'iska, thought Lol as she crouched in the shadows between the wall and the doors. She watched as the black-cloaked woman slipped through the shadows to the other side of ship. Then Lol turned her attention to the quietly humming craft.
She gazed for a moment on her silver beauty, reading the flowing script on it's side, which proclaimed it the 'Moyan Star'. She breathed a small sigh of relief when the Star began the normal humming it made during preflight checks. It was good to know that whatever Borga had managed to screw up somehow, the Star was still capable of repairing itself.
Lol caught a small movement out of the corner of her eye. K'iska's signal. The blue woman smiled and thrust out with her hands. She threw the Force she'd gathered at the small group of workers getting the Star ready for their escape. The Force energy hit, knocking down all of them.
Except for one burly Gamorrean still on his feet, wielding a force pike. He swung his head, glaring at Lol, then roared angrily and charged her.
But he hadn't seen K'iska behind him.
K'iska's only job had been to board the Star and throw out anyone she found there. It was a simple enough job, one that she wouldn't have to strain herself doing. A perfect job, but for one minor problem.
She'd been halfway to the open boarding ramp when the Gamorrean had charged the Twi'lek. Lol can handle it, she thought. And yet, her hand raised unbidden and threw the silver dagger she'd gripped in it.
Time seemed to slow down. K'iska kept running for the ramp. The Gamorrean charged Lol, his pike raised high. Lol was in the process of throwing herself out of his reach. The thrown dagger sailed end over end through the air till, finally after what seemed like minutes, it buried itself in the back of the Gamorrean's neck.
Time sped up. The Gamorrean stumbled and hit the ground face first, stunned. K'iska leaped onto the ramp and dashed inside the Star. Lol excuted the perfect commando roll and came back up to her feet.
Sidestepping her would-be attacker, Lol reached the Star's ramp just as one bewildered-looking Bith came flying out. He rolled down the ramp and landed on his rear several meters from the Star.
"Hey, thanks for the ride," she snickered as she ran up the ramp and hit the switch that would raise and close it.
"Star, honey, I'm home!" Lol's voice held an enormous amount of good cheer. "Now let's get the frell out of here!"
