Oh hey, I should post?

It's probably a bad sign that the only reason I come to LJ anymore is to add comments to private entries detailing the water chemistry in my aquaria. That is bad, right?

Work is good. I have a lot of students now ("a lot" in this case being defined as "four") and more probably on the way, which makes logistics interesting with only one car between me and Jonathan. And there's a lot of paperwork, some of which is less organized than it should be. ^_^; But I'm working on it and I know where everything is, I just almost ran out of notebook paper to write things down on. LOL

My fish all got sick at once but they're doing better now. I was really worried about the big guy for a while, he had septicemia and it kept getting worse right after I started medicating, but now he's looking better. Not that you could tell by his behavior that he'd come down with a terrible disease. What makes it nerve-wracking is that septicemia is usually caused by owner screwup, and I thought I'd done everything I needed to do when I introduced the new fish, other than quarantine. Because I don't have a QT big enough for the shipment I got. So what can you do? Feed antibiotics and pray, mostly. The water quality, which I tested, was actually really good, so it was probably not that. Despite what The Internet says.

I have a new blog: pancakeloach.blogspot.com
It's all about fish. :)
