Is it worse to know ahead of time when someone is leaving, or to find out right before they do?

It depends. Would you act differently around them if you know they're about to leave, and consequently ruin the fun you would otherwise have . . . or would you make more time to spend with them and relish it knowing ahead of time? I'm not sure you're taking it this deeply, but it's like the question of knowing you're about to die . . . Would you rather die, living your life as usual up to the last moment when your consciousness is just suddenly snuffed out, or would you like to know ahead of time so that you can put your affairs i

(Did someone leave without warning? I hope they at least said goodbye! That's the worst).

Both kinda, I think. The post was inspired by my roommate leaving because she's transferring Spring semester. While it's thankfully nothing as severe as death, it is somewhat final because she's moving to San Francisco and wants to limit contact with her friends here for a while, atleast until she's settled there ( ... )
