Today I lost my aunt after she battled to recover from falls that broke her hip twice within a short period of time. She was stubborn and made sure she was not left in a hospital or nursing home. She was at home where she felt comfortable and though we all swore that she was held together with caffeine, nicotine and pure stubbornness and would outlast all of us, she showed us how to pass on. A long life, a witty personality, laughter and at home, peacefully in her sleep.

I will miss seeing her when I go down to visit my family though I will forever laugh at her sense of humor and retelling those stories.
