[For Phedre] And please, Believe me when I say, I love you.

Months have gone by since Muraki's last face to face conversation with Phedre. He has slipped short missives under her door, and he thinks often of her, usually when he's seen something especially beautiful and he wishes that he could share it with her. He might have an odd relationship with Aramat, but in his mind, it's an affair of the flesh and the senses; despite their parting, he still thinks of Phedre as the keeper of his soul.

He might be thinking of her, as he walks from his class, around noon, the autumn light slanting through the windows, gilding the tiles in the hallway.

And perhaps she might spy him, though he'll look a bit different: that Harris tweed jacket in place of his usual white gives him a professorish air.

Title nicked from "Tango de Roxanne" on the "Moulin Rouge!" soundtrack. Looking for Phedre, though if anyone wants Muraki, don't hesitate to poke the typist.
