The days are growing shorter and the nights visibly longer. The dark time of the year is quickly advancing, and Muraki can sense his power growing... not stronger, but more focused. Now is the time to get to work, to roll up his sleeves and start setting a few traps for his handful of targets: first and foremost is that damned shinigami, but there are others he may consider setting snares for, including his troublesome fellow countryman, the skewed-eyed beauty, and the man who bedeviled his sister in spirit.
But more importantly, he has a student whom he is continuing to train; the youth has absorbed theory like a sponge and he is impressed with these results.
