I'm assuming this happened because I was creating a new neighbourhood but now when I go to Dewey Hills to play with the Picklesworth houses, none of the Gen. 5 kids are there. All of them are missing: the main kids, the spare kids in both houses... Actually, the cats are also missing. Their character files have been wiped out.
Somehow I must have corrupted the neighbourhood while building a new neighbourhood. Not sure how, but now whenever I go to one of the Picklesworth's hosues and check the adults' memories of the kids, it's just blank with things like "Taught $Subject how to walk" or "$Subject was an over-achiever".
I've searched for answers and whatnot and one of the things I've tried is using my backup file just in case (AND ALL OF THESE TEMPBD FILES JUST POPPED OUTTA NOWHERE). Apparently it could be due to some corrupt CC but I cleaned my CC files recently of all the stuff that I thought might be going bad. I don't download custom hoods, I just use one of the readily available templates, so I know it's not that at least.
Shoulda known something was up really, what with me being unable to open Bodyshop at all for some reason. Dunno how that happened, but... *shrug* From threads I found where people had the same problem, most people on MATY and MTS2 and the Sims comm on LJ seem to agree that the neighbourhood is corrupted and there's no hope of retrieving the missing Sims. In that case, I don't know whether I should continue playing with the Picklesworths while the neighbourhood keeps worsening or if I should just start over in a clean new hood. It's like my computers never want me to finish one legacy, and much as I'm frustrated I'm not too miffed so long as I can restart a new legacy without problems. *Knocks on wood*
Sooo... if anyone is willing to read a new legacy from me sometime in the near future, I'd be happy. Sorry, guys. Technology's a bitch sometimes.
