So, I've been blogging over on my Spark Page at Sparkpeople.com, and have decided I'm going to start cross-posting my entries from there to here to. So here's today's (if you're interested in reading the others, just click the link on my sidebar):

Subject: Week off over

...and now it's back to business.
So, yes - last weekend I gave in to a craving for mozarella sticks. Then I didn't go to the gym all week because of my hip (and the weather). For some reason on Wednesday I decided to devour and entire Medium Pizza Hut pizza by myself (and was impressed I only went 1000 calories over - but boy did I bloat). And then last night I went out for ice cream (which didn't end too badly).

So, I probably gained a true pound with a little bit of bloating (but I did keep up my water, so that's something). The biggest thing I noticed - not going to the gym for the week sure effected my stress levels. Didn't realize that it was helping until I stopped. This week wasn't fun for my schedule - lots of rearranging and sticking around longer than I'd like. But last week when Doug asked me last minute to proofread a paper, I did so with pleasure. This week when Donna asked me to stuff her exams, I did so with resentment. Guess I gotta stay with the gym.

So, I went back this morning. I didn't run according to a couch to 5k day, I just jogged what I could - Walked 5, jogged 5, walked 2, jogged 6, walked 3, jogged 4, cooled down in 5. I probably could have kept going on that last 4, but I wanted to give myself efficient cool down time and I knew I was going to strength train afterwards, so I really didn't want to overdo it the first day back on the hip. So, yeah, then I went and did the machines. Although I feel like I can now say that I go to the gym regularly, and I have no problems anymore trying to get myself to go do some cardio, it still is really difficult for me to stick to a strength training regimine. I really want to though - I know how important it is for me all around; but whatever motivation gets me to the gym just isn't carrying over to the machines. Maybe this hurt hip is just what I need to give me a little more incentive.
