A Revamped Weekend - A Time For Change

Jan 20, 2008 23:46

Last weekend I was getting ready to start the new semester. And as usual, I had all these goals and things I needed to do and get started on, and of course, it all went to hell. There are a number of things I really want to accomplish this semester, and I'll go into all those in a future post (I'm sure all of them you can guess though); instead, I just felt the need to recollect on my uber-productiveness this weekend :-)

This weekend was forcasted to be below zero temperatures - well, actually it was below freezing temperatrues - so I had just planned on curling up and doing nothing much all weeked - totally giving into the weather. The biggest damper on my plans to hide-away was Donna's last minute request for me to watch Mocha for a few days. I stayed over there with the dog Friday night, and knew that I had to be back by 8am to let the dog out. EW! The last thing I wanted to do was a) get up early on a Saturday and even more so b) go outside and drive to Donna's that early in the moning when it would be COOOOOLD. I know I could have just crashed at her house, but I really just wanted to be comfy in my own bed. So, I pulled an Aunt Marge. At 8:00 I got up, kept my pajamas on, and went over to let the dog out - after 15 minutes of scraping frozen dew off my windshield - or 1/3 of it anyway to let me see. Then I came back - going back and forth the entire time in my head about weather I should go back to sleep or just get up. I compromised and played Zoo Tycoon 2 for an hour in bed. :-D Then I finally got up. I knew I wanted to go to the gym - but a random bout of spontaneity hit me and I decided today would be the day I go get my hair cut and colored. (Thank god I got a lot of money for Christmas, cause that was a damn expensive spontaneous decision!!! Part of me is still feeling regret over it - just because I usually plan for $100 purchases ::shudder:: ). So, that's what I did - went to the gym (and managed to jog for 3 min/5min/3min/5min without dying!!!!!) - then got my hair down. Afterwards I went by Penney's to check out their bedding sales. I've been going back and forth in my head about the possibility of either getting a whole new bed, or getting new bedding. My celestial bedding has seen better days, and the other set I have - the fitted mattress is no longer fitted. Either way, it's a firm decision (no point buying twin bedding if I'm gonna go out and get a double bed) - and I finally opted for just the twin bedding. The whole ordeal of shopping for a new bed, plus the bedding for that was just too much - especially after dropping 100 on my hair.
So - then I grabbed some lunch and headed over to let the puppy out again. Donna and her family were expected home later Saturday night, so I didn't stay as long as I usually would. Just long enough to give the puppy dinner and let him out a couple more times. Around 6ish I went back home and got started on a projected I'd been meaning to do since I came back on the 9th - clean/organize my bedroom. Last weekend I had done that for my kitchen/living room - now it was my bedroom's turn, but I had been putting it off - of course. However, now that I had the new bedding, it was time to take care of things. But whatever little bug had energized me to get my hair done was still jumping around and wanted more change. So, I rearranged my bedroom and reorganized my clothes storage. Totally new Feng Shui - hopefully one that supports progress, both academically and physically.

As I am a Capricorn, it is common place for others to view me as rather capricious; however, most of the time it does not seem as such to me. I know where I'm coming from, I know my moods and thoughts changed, but it all makes sense to me :-D Apparently, though, the waning of Capricorn creates just the right energy for me to even surprise myself. Go figure.
