The criminal class around here are idiots.
Well, last night there was a break-in/theft/murder/carjacking near my house.
Like...right down the street. A helicopter kept circling above the house. It's spotlight kept me up for two hours. Anyway, they caught the two idiots that decided to hide in an occupied house.
Apparently they robbed/murdered someplace else. Then stole a car only to crash because apparently they can't drive. Then to outrun the dogs they broke into the house near us. Killed one inhabitant and critically injured the other, only to get caught because they didn't think to try and use the available clothing and perfumes and whatnot to mask their scent.
If they had they could have jumped the back fence and stolen another car. By the time they got further away, the dogs may have lost the scent. Not to mention if you know the area well enough, they could have hid in the school. Or... I don't know, set the house on fire to distract the police/dogs.
But then again, I suppose staying put when dogs are right on your tail is a good idea.
