My Father

There is no doubt now.  They will be removing the feeding tube tonight.  I will in the next week be leaving for Ohio, hoping I am there before he dies.  We have not been close for many years and while I have tried I never understood why.  Now I will never know.  He has not regained consciousness since he got to the hospital and they did the surgery to repair the injury to his brain.  I know this has been harder on his wife my step mother Susan and my sister Susan since they are the ones he shared time with for the last 20 years.  I know this is not the end of the world, but it is the end of part of my family.  Both parents are gone, with so many things never said.  My mother far too young, by a drunk driver and now my father, who was a strong fit person.  Is going too soon.  My grandparents both made it into the eighties and grammy made it to 92, so I feel he still had many year ahead of him.  It shows the simplest things can end all.  He just fell on some ice and hit his head.  Not even very hard from what I was told.  Dad, I love you, and will miss you.  May the spirits guide you on to the next place as what you believe in peace and joy.  You will be missed.
