I came. I saw. I sniffed.
I visited Houston's latest local celebrity: a corpse flower named Lois. Corpse flower = an uber-rare flower that grows up to 7 feet tall, and smells like rotting flesh (hence the name). It was pretty freakin' cool. :) More on the experience

They were selling buttons! I decided to get one.
The stink-o-meter. When I visited Lois had registered at a 6 out of 10 in terms of stench. She definitely didn't smell good, but she wasn't intolerable. When I saw photos of her from the next day, the horticulturalists tending to her were wearing gas masks to deal with the odor. Yikes.
