So yesterday I picked up a plain 1.1oz wooden hi-lo whorl spindle and a couple of ounces of merino wool white with grey, lavender and purple stripe named Thistle. This morning over coffee tommy and I drafted out over half the hank of wool and started spinning it. I've gotten about 2/3 of it spun now, and the spindle is almost full of a nice soft, chunky single ply yarn. I don't think I am going to ply this stuff as it would be a really hugely bulky yarn that would require a new crochet hook to make something out of. I am thinking this might become a hat, or part of a hat as I don't think there is going to be enough to make a whole hat. I didn't draft it down all that thin, only into 8ths (about the thickness of a narrow highlighter)
