Smile For A While And Let's Be Jolly
One morning while I was getting ready for work, the song Rose Garden popped into my head. (Lyrics include: I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden.) I loved this song when I was a youngster but I haven't heard it in years. I bought a couple different versions tonight on iTunes including the original by Lynn Anderson and a remake by k.d. lang. Then I decided to look for the song on YouTube.
I remember seeing Lynn Anderson doing the performance in this video in that yellow dress. I thought she was the cat's pajamas when I was 6 or 7. This is worth checking out for the audience's dance moves and the fashion circa 1973.
Then I found this lip synch version of it by Daphne Dragee. Reminds me very much of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert which is one of my favorite movies. Good for a laugh!
