I kind of love my university.
This afternoon I was checking my email, and absently scrolling through the staff memos. Turns out the uni is giving away free furniture for any interested staff. Interesting indeed, I think, so I click away. It's all the usual kind of academic-y furniture you'd expect - desks, filing cabinets, uncomfortable looking green chairs, coffee tables, a display case for your maces....
Oh yes. That would be the extremely heavy and sharp and pointy kind of mace display case. Knowing our lecturers, it's probably from the Fluffy Puppy Petting dept.
Scots are hardcore, y'all. Even when pondering the great mysteries of life or splitting the atom we like to have a bloody great big medieval weapon to hand, just in case anyone's thinking of starting anything.
